What to do and what see in Alcudia
First of all, Alcudia is many kilometers of sandy beaches. Pine trees and palms grow along the beaches, seagulls circle above them and it makes Alcudia a perfect place to forget about everything.
When the heavenly beach ends, the city port begins where beautiful yachts sway. You may book a trip on a yacht or boat along the coast and admire the city views, emerald forest and endless sea.
The promenade runs along the entire city and goes to the port. There are a lot of nice benches on the promenade where you can sit and relax under the sprawling palm trees and mighty pines. You can sit in one of the cafes, order something Mediterranean and feel good.
The old town of Alcudia is a stunning place to enjoy architecture and incredible atmosphere. A walk to the old town from the promenade takes 20 minutes. This time is enough to transfer you to the parallel world. The old city is surrounded by a fortress wall and in the very city centre you will find an ancient cathedral. Walk a couple of minutes and you are looking at the archeological excavations, another couple more and you are sitting in an excellent restaurant. The old town is small, but there are cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops on every corner so you will easily find something very colorful and unusual. A big plus is the lack of people. Alcudia is not the most popular resort so everything here is at your service.
The best hotels in Alcudia
Alcudia is famous for its boutique hotels. In such hotels, the emphasis is on the original and stylish design of the rooms. Pay your attention to Hotel Can Simo, located in a historic building a 10-15-minutes walk from the beach. The four-star Ca´n Pere Hotel is also very interesting. It is located in the 19th century. It offers its guests incredible neoclassical interiors, the author's cuisine of the hotel restaurant and an excellent location at the coast. Another interesting boutique hotel with designer interiors is called Fonda Llabrés Boutique Hotel. It is located in the Old Town and a couple of minutes' walk from the beach.
Port de Pollenca
This resort is the most remote from the capital, however, you can get here from the airport in just 2 hours. Here you will find magnificent nature, luxurious sandy beaches, hotels with high-class service, and one of the most beautiful sights of Mallorca called Cape Formentor and its observation deck, Formentor lighthouse and Formentor beach.
Location: 65 km from the airport and 60 km from Palma.
How to get there: at the airport take bus No. 1. It departs from the Aeroport Arribades stop. The bus will take you to the center of Palma, a station is called Estació Intermodal. Bus No. 340 departs from the Estació Intermodal bus station and will take you to Port de Pollensa. The ride will take you about 2 hours.

Formentor Beach is located near one of the most popular and beautiful sights on the island of Mallorca, Cape Formentor. The cape and the beach are 18 km from the famous resort of Alcudia, 10 km from the city of Porto de Pollenca, and 55 km from Palma de Mallorca.
An unusual location and an original combination of a sandy beach and a pine forest make this place so desired among travelers.
There are several key points here: an observation deck, a beach, and a lighthouse.
Observation deck Mirador Es Colomer
The observation deck Mirador Es Colomer is located 4 km from the Formentor beach. If you drive from Porta Pollenca first you meet an observation deck on your way, and then the Formentor beach and the Formentor lighthouse.
The most breathtaking views open up from this deck. You will see a 300-meter cliff and huge waves of sky-blue color. The line between reality and dreams is erased the minute you see it, and you have no choice but to surrender to your imagination. Keep your cameras ready and take an extra charger with you.
If you want, you can climb the steep path a little higher and look at the old tower. If not, you won’t lose much, because it is visible from the deck.
You may also walk around the deck, a couple of meters will not play a role, and you will breathe much more freely.
Formentor Beach or Playa Formentor
The beach is usually the main point of the route. If you are coming by car, be aware that beach parking costs about 10 euros and is usually very busy. You can try to leave the car just on the side of the road a couple of hundred meters from the parking lot.
The beach is located 3 km from the observation deck, follow the signs.
As we said above, the beach is an unusual combination of blue sea, yellow sand, and dark green pine trees that grow along the entire coast. Pine needles are expected to fall from the pines, so the sand is not as perfectly clean.
How to get to Cape Formentor from Palma de Mallorca
By bus
Buses do not go right to the cape and to the lighthouse. But if you are planning a trip to the Cape using public transport, first go to the city of Porto de Pollenca. Bus No. 340 goes from Palma de Mallorca to Porto de Pollenca, which departs from the Palma city bus station. Travel time is about 1 hour 30 minutes. You may buy tickets from the driver. When you arrive, take a bus to Formentor beach. The bus runs once a day at about 10 a. m. only in summer.
By taxi or transfer
Not the cheapest, but the fastest way is a car. A trip from Palma to Formentor beach costs about 85 euros. Order a transfer. Or you may get to Port de Pollenca by bus and take a taxi or a transfer from Port de Pollenca. Taxi will cost you about 10 euro.
You can rent a sun lounger and an umbrella on the beach, which will cost about 15 euros for a set of two sun loungers and an umbrella.
Formentor Lighthouse

If you came to the beach by car, do not miss the opportunity to see another attraction of the cape - the Formentor lighthouse. It is located 12 km from the beach of Formentor and stands on a cliff 210 meters high. The lighthouse is considered the northernmost point of Mallorca.
