The Almudaina Palace or the residence of the royal family is one of the main decorations of the city. The royal families knew a lot about the location, so they chose the best place in the city - the historical center, on the one hand, the Cathedral and the park on the other, and all to the accompaniment of the sea waves.
The palace was built in the 13th century by order of the local Arab rulers. At first, the building served as a defensive fortress. Later it was reconstructed more than once and as a result the building acquired modern Gothic features, generously flavored with elements in the Mauritanian style, such as arches, as well as a patio.
There is a large park called S'Hort del Rei near the palace where you can enjoy fountains and benches where locals like to come and relax in the evening.
