The largest transport hub in Mallorca is located in the city of Palma. The underground bus station, the railway station of Palma de Mallorca, and the metro station are located on the Plaza de España, or rather under it.
From the Intermodal station you can get to any corner of Mallorca: the cities of Sa Sobla, Inca, Manacor, Porto Cristo, Llucmajor, Calvia and others.
Ticket offices and information desks are located on underground level 1, where you can buy tickets for any destination and check the schedule. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or from special machines.
Bus tickets are bought from drivers. Tickets for the train and metro are bought at the box office or vending machines, as well as from the controller.
Metro and trains depart from level 2, which is one floor lower than the ticket office. Unlike electric trains, the metro in Palma is not the most popular type of transport - there are only two branches, and both are very short. Students usually use the metro, because it connects the city center and the largest educational institution in the city - the University of the Balearic Islands.
The cost of tickets for long-distance destinations in Mallorca is low, about 3-5 euros, due to the fact that the island is very small.
The Intermodal station is usually known to tourists who want to get from the airport to the city by public transport.
The easiest way to do this is by bus.
Bus №1 runs between the airport and Plaza de España. Buses run from 6.00 to 2.00. Tickets can be bought from bus drivers. The ticket price is 5 euros one way. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes. The bus runs every 15 minutes.
Bus №21 runs between the airport and the S'Arenal resort area, where some of the best beaches in Mallorca are located. Travel time is approximately 15 minutes. The ticket can be bought from the driver.
