The Gothic Quarter

The Gothic Quarter or Barri Gotic is situated not far from Rambla.

Come here to see the treasures of Gothic architecture, after all some buildings were built 400 or even 500 years ago. Walk along beautiful narrow streets, feed the fat pigeons with tasty crumbs, visit cozy local restaurants and enjoy their authentic menu.

Visit the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia which was founded in 1298. Enjoy St. James Square or Plaça de Sant Jaume which is the central square of the Gothic Quarter. Look around the square with its administrative buildings, as well as nice cafes and small souvenir shops. Drink a glass of sangria in Art Cabaret Four Cats or Els Quatre Gats or have a cup of coffee at the Royal Square or Plaça Reial. And at the end of the walk take a look at the Basilica of Santa Maria del Pi constructed in 1320.
