La Rambla is the main walking street in Barcelona. It is a wide boulevard that starts in the city center, in Placa de Catalunya, and ends at the monument to Columbus, where you will find the promenade, the city port, and the beaches and continue your stroll. The boulevard is partly pedestrian, and partly open for cars. Sometimes during the holidays, it is closed so people may walk and have fun.
On Rambla, you may admire the beautiful buildings of the 18th and 19th centuries and the bright city life. And if you turn off the boulevard, you will see other popular attractions such as the Boqueria market, the Royal Square, the Guell Palace, or the Corte Ingles department store.
