Loro Parque Zoo is located in the city of Puerto de la Cruz.
This park is often called Parrot Park, and in general "loro" in Spanish means "parrot", although not only parrots live here. But the story of the whole park started with them. More than 60 years ago, a boy named Wolfgang Kiesling decided to get a parrot. He liked the birds in his childhood and when the boy grew up, he came to Tenerife and opened a parrot park on the island. The park grew, the number of birds and animals increased, penguinariums and dolphinariums, an aquarium with sharks, and a large botanical garden appeared. As a result, Loro Parque has become the most popular entertainment in Tenerife. It only competes with the water park Siam Park, located in the city of Costa Adeje. By the way, the water park Siam Park and Loro Park belong to the same owner, so the business is obviously a success.
The park is decorated in Thai style, just like the water park Siam Park. The park is huge, so you can spend all day here and that day will be amazing.
150 species of parrots live in the park, in total 4 thousand birds, this is the largest collection in Europe and one of the largest in the world.
In addition, there is a large dolphinarium where dolphins, seals, sea lions and orcas or killer whales live. At the entrance you are greeted by a large swimming pool, where Thai koi fishes live. Then you can look at the performances of seals, dolphins, killer whales, and parrots. Then get to know the orangutans and take a walk to the penguinarium - children will adore it. The collection of penguins in Loro Parque is also one of the largest in the world. Moreover, penguins live in conditions as close to natural as possible. Every day a special machine produces 12 tons of snow for them. Penguins start families, fish, ride slides, in general, live their best life.
Loro Parque has a large zoo where red pandas, sloths, meerkats, monkeys, jaguars, tigers, and many birds live.
Near the exit there is a large aquarium, where there is a tunnel where fish and sharks will swim above your head.
There are several cafes in the park where you can relax and have a bite or a drink.
