Paseo de San Telmo is located in Puerto de la Cruz. It lays between Jardin Beach and Martianez Beach and Lago Martianez.
Not far from the Lago Martianez there is a small beach called San Telmo, but it has a few disadvantages. It is too small, there are large stones, and often it smells like fish. Nevertheless, there are always people who sunbathe and even swim there. Locals believe it is a good idea to sit and look at the ocean on San Telmo beach, but we suppose it is better to swim on Jardin beach or Martianez beach, since they are both nearby.
The length of the promenade is about two kilometers, and all these kilometers are there to help you to enjoy the ocean breeze, admire the waves, listen to the rustle of palm trees and look at people who have come here from all over the world. Go to a cafe and drink sangria, wander through souvenir shops and choose gifts for loved ones, feed fish in the ocean, listen to the cries of seagulls, and enjoy life.
If you want to live in the city center and at the same time close to the most popular beaches of Puerto de la Cruz, then the hotels and apartments on the promenade de San Telmo are an excellent choice. You can walk to both beaches in 10-15 minutes, a walk to the central Plaza del Charco will take you 10 minutes, the road to Loro Parque takes about half an hour on foot or a couple of minutes by public transport or taxi.
The four-star Hotel Vallemar is located near the promenade and right near the beach. It offers classic-style rooms, city or ocean views, two restaurants, an ocean-view pool and a spacious sun deck.
The three-star Hotel Marquesa is housed in a historic building near the Paseo de San Telmo. The building was built in 1712. The reception hall has preserved the authentic atmosphere of the 18th century. It offers cozy rooms with views of the city, the ocean or Mount Teide. You can walk to the beach in a couple of minutes. The hotel has two restaurants, a small swimming pool and a panoramic sun terrace on the roof.
