Playa de Martianez
Playa de Martianez is located in the city of Puerto de la Cruz, 35 km from the capital of Tenerife, the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The beach has fine black sand. On the one hand, the beach is protected by a breakwater, but the waves still roll on the shore, although not so strong. Frequent storms make this beach not the most popular place for swimming, for example, Playa Jardin is better for this.
But what Playa Martianez is suitable for is surfing, there is even a surfing school and surfing equipment rental on the beach. This place is also amazing for picnics overlooking the ocean.

Lago de Martianez or Martianez pools
For those who love a beach holiday, there is a huge plus. A few meters from the beach, on the edge of the cape, stands the Martianez Water Park. This is one of the most popular and unusual places to stay in Tenerife. This water park is built below sea level. There are no slides and attractions here, but there are five pools and a large and very beautiful artificial lake. The pools have seawater and gorgeous ocean views, which makes this place a great alternative to the usual swimming on the beach. And if you want to touch the ocean, you can go down to the beach, which is a few steps away.
