San Sebastia Beach is located near the center of Barcelona and it is difficult to separate it from the popular Barceloneta Beach. They smoothly pass one into another. There is no exact border, and it is not needed. You just need to know that these are the iconic beaches of the Catalan capital and if you want to understand this city, you need to come here.
San Sebastia is soft yellow sand, like almost everywhere on this coast, waves of the Mediterranean Sea, bright sun, excellent infrastructure, and the spirit of a large seaside city.
The beach has everything you need for a perfect holiday: rental of sun loungers and umbrellas (6 euros apiece), fresh water showers and toilets, pavilions selling swimwear, towels and other important things, nice bars where you will be served a refreshing drink, and a cafe with outdoor terraces where you can dine enjoying the sea view.
There is also a rescue station and a first-aid station, so you don't have to worry about safety. There are even policemen on the beach who keep order, but still keep a close eye on your things - you may meet thieves.
If you are a sports fan, go in for volleyball, play football, and table tennis. There are equipment rentals for active types of beach recreation. If you love surfing, you'd better go to Mar Bella beach. There are the biggest waves in the city and there is a surf school where you can rent equipment and hire an instructor.
A picturesque promenade lined with sprawling palm trees runs along the entire coast. People come here to enjoy the sea, sit in a coastal cafe, ride a bike, rollerblade or skateboard, look at the bright crowd and dive into the whirlpool of life.
