La Fundacio Joan Miro

The Joan Miró Foundation is a contemporary art museum located in Montjuïc Park in Barcelona. Whenever you are in Barcelona you will inevitably come across his masterpieces. His mosaic will greet you at the airport, logos made by Miro will look at you from all the logos of La Caixa bank departments, and his signatures will be on the ceramic tiles under your feet.

Joan Miro initiated this museum himself in 1975. Now La Fundacio owns over 10000 paintings, drawings, sculptures, and even carpets.

Opening hours and prices

The museum's schedule changes depending on the season. Usually it closes at about 20.00 but sometimes at 18.00

You may also buy a special Barcelona Museum Pass which allows you to enter six best Barcelona museums: Fundació Joan Miró, Museu Picasso of Barcelona, Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, The Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona, and Fundació Antoni Tàpies.
