El Medano

The popular resort town of El Medano is located 85 km from Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Here you will find black volcanic sand beaches, picturesque cliffs, caves and grottoes, perfect waves for surfing, a sky dotted with colorful kites, excellent service, and low prices for accommodation and services.

There are four beaches in the city of El Medano: Playa del Medano, Playa del Cabezo, Playa el Salado, Playa de la Jaquita, and suburban La Playita and La Tejita, which are a couple of kilometers from the city. If this is not enough, then a couple of kilometers from El Medano there is another resort town called Arenas del Mar with several more beaches, beautiful mountains and capes that cut into the ocean.

All the beaches of the El Medano resort are well-equipped. They offer rental of sun loungers and umbrellas for 2 euros per day apiece, showers and toilets, shops, cafes and bars, surf schools and places where you can learn how to fly kites, beach activities for adults and children.

People go to El Medano to surf, snorkel or dive, fly kites into the sky, ride a bike along the ocean, walk along the rocks and get enough of the ocean views.
