Mount and volcano Teide is located in the Canary Islands in the center of Tenerife.
Its height is 3718 meters and it is the highest point in Spain.
The volcano last erupted in 1909, but no one was hurt. But in 1706, during the eruption, the city of Garachico and a couple of villages burned down.
Today people come to the Teide National Park to admire the cosmic landscapes. The cliffs de Gracia will surprise you with their shapes, and the Teide Finger is the most unusual stone that you will see on the way to the volcano. It consists of layered rocks and looks like a weird mushroom on a thin stipe.
You can get to the volcano on your own, or you can join an excursion.
