Calo des Moro beach is located in the Calo des Moro bay and is considered the most beautiful beach in Mallorca. Some ratings state that it is even better than the fashionable resort of Formentor. The beach of Calo des Moro is located 55 km away from the capital of Mallorca, Palma de Mallorca.
The beach is really very beautiful. It is surrounded by low cliffs, sometimes covered with emerald greenery, the water here is clear, according to the reviews "like a baby's tear", the sand is soft and white, and the air is fresh and crystal clear. The beach is overcrowded in summer but if you come here in spring, autumn or even winter, you will enjoy all its perfection.
If you are coming here in the summer, be prepared to just take a few photos and dip your feet in the water, and then, after refreshing yourself, find a neighboring bay, not so beautiful, but not so crowded and spend a wonderful day there. And if you want to enjoy the views and the freshness of the tide, come here in May or mid-September.
The beach is wild, that is, there are no umbrellas and sun loungers for rent, but it is quite possible to sit on your own towel. Also, there are no toilets or showers. But there are incredible views, a rather gentle descent into the water and a lot of places for those who like to jump from the rocks into the water.
If you want to stay here for a few days, you can stay at one of the hotels or guest houses of the towns of Cala Llombards or Cala Santanyi.
The nearest settlement to the beach is called Cala Llombards. Those who plan to come here by bus may do it from Palma. The bus №505 departs from the central bus station. You may buy the tickets from the driver.
When you get to the village of Cala Llombards, follow the signs, the beach is less than 2 km from the bus stop, this distance can be easily covered on foot. At the end of the route you will find a small descent along the rock, but even very young children can cope with it.
If you are traveling by car, just type in the name of the beach in the navigator and follow the instructions. In places along the way there are signs "traffic is prohibited". The locals often do not pay attention to it. It is up to you to decide how to proceed, but remember that the fines are high. There is no well-maintained parking near the beach, but you can leave the car just in the village where it is not prohibited (here it is better to look at the signs carefully).
The fastest but not the cheapest way to get to the bay is a taxi or a transfer. The trip from Palma to Calo des Moro beach costs about 65 euros.
