Playa Abama

One of the best resorts in Tenerife consists of only one beach, near which there are only a few hotels. But these hotels are great.

A chic lagoon with a beach of fine golden sand, which was brought here by currents from the Sahara. A version exists that the sand was brought here from Morocco. Whatever it was, the beach is very beautiful and very comfortable.

Abama Beach is located 20 km from the resort of Costa Adeje. Entrance to the beach is free, like on all other beaches in Tenerife.

There is a banana plantation on one side of the beach, and picturesque rocks on the other. Crystal clear water, wonderful views, soft yellow sand, and hotels with excellent service make this place a favorite resort for connoisseurs of Tenerife.

The beach has everything you need: sunbeds and umbrellas, showers and toilets, and a beach restaurant serving Canarian and Mediterranean cuisine. There is paid parking not far from the beach, so you can come here by car from nearby resorts such as Los Cristianos, Las Americas, or Costa Adeje. You may also come here by taxi or a transfer.

The beach is located about 800 meters from the road and hotels, so you need to go down to it, and then climb a rather steep hill on your way back. The Ritz-Carlton Abama has free lifts for guests, but everyone else will have to walk along the path.
